INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATIONS
Indians and Pakistanis
Indians and Pakistanis
I am pleased to wish the very best of Independence Days to my Indian and Pakistani friends.
Until three years ago, I used to do an hour long special radio show in August mornings called “Independence special” It was dedicated to India and Pakistan. From Monday to Friday 8AM –to 9AM through out the month of August. In the month long program, Najma and I presented information about our civilization, history, culture, religions, customs, traditions, traditional and new forms of entertainment, foods, clothes, places to visit, politics, economy, regional round up, City beat, movies and cuisine. A summary of where we are heading and of course, studded with Patriotic Songs of both India and Pakistan.
One of the most sentimental moments for me was to see people in their realm of joy and open mindedness on those two days; August 14th and 15th. They showed their bigness and pureness of their hearts - Indians have sung Pakistani patriotic songs on August 14th and Pakistani's have sung Indian Patriotic Songs on August 15th.
It is good to be free, free from ill-will, free from prejudice and free from unfounded hate.God Bless every human being.
Click these songs and sit back and enjoy them:
Jana Gana Mana Adhi Naika jaya hai - Video rendering by AR Rahman
A jo des hai tera - the spirit of India
Paak sir zameen shadab -Video rendering
